Kyoto

The glorious old capital steeped in colorful history was subjected to numerous visits by this avid fan. Something like an hour by train from Osaka, the pilgrimage was always embarked on with enthusiasm and genuine joy. Mr Miyasaka was the Chairman of Nagai Plastics and, with Saratani-San welcomed our visits to the factory. His hospitality knew no bounds and, besides the ‘normal’ business lunches there were boozy dinners at exquisite locations ( one notable evening at Prince Charles’ favorite restaurant) and even a surprise few hours at a famous Geisha House. (Mama-San spoke no English but Shinya Kitafuji – a senior manager at Kiyohara – did and, by dint of his translatory talents, a great time was had by all. Never did manage to find out the full story behind the photograph of the Victoria Falls on the wall of the main reception room!
